• 4.0 out of 5 stars from Massimo Pigliucci -- Una strana e affascinante storia sarda : Pochi sanno che la Deledda fu la seconda donna a vincere il Nobel per la letteratura, e questo libro ne dimostra il perché. E` una strana storia, incentrata sul servo di una famiglia composta di tre donne, una volta facoltose, adesso in declino. E` possibile che al lettore moderno (il romanzo fu pubblicato nel 1913) serva un pochino per entrare nell'ottica della storia e nella psicologia dei personaggi, ma ne vale veramente la pena. E quello che Deledda scrisse per la Sardegna agli inizi del'900 vale per molti altri posti al mondo, in qualunque momento della storia, allorché ci siano in corso cambiamenti sociali che per forza di cose lasciano alcune persone indietro. Non e' facile a leggere questo libro, ma il processo e' bellissimo. La lingua e' scritto quasi come poesia ed a ricco delle parole che ci aiutano a descrivere l'ambiente del tempo e paese.
